All healthy Christmas snacks are free of refined sugar and most are sweetened with fruit. Naturally free of gluten, dairy, egg and butter making all Christmas treat recipe vegan and suitable for a plant-based whole foods diet.

Cranberry Almond Balls

The original recipe calls for dried cherries but for a festive twist replace with dried cranberries. Choose cranberries that are sweetened with pineapple or apple juice as they are healthier.

Choose dried cranberries without any additives or preservatives – some have substances to make them less sticky or a brighter colour and these are unnecessary.

These can be covered with either your favourite chocolate or made totally raw by mixing 1/3 coconut butter, 1/3 raw cacao and 1/3 a sweetener.

What can be better than a soft date stuffed with an almond or two and enrobed in a layer of cacao-rich chocolate? Not much in my book.

People have been stuffing date for centuries and the sweet caramel date mixed with heart-healthy almonds maxes an irresistible combination. You can either use your favourite chocolate or make a raw cacao coating.

Raw Mince Pies

No gluten, no flour and no butter in these healthy mince pies. The crust is a mixture of almonds and set using coconut butter. Contains a cinnamon and nutmeg spicey fruity filling.

These raw mince pies are filled with a mixture of fresh and dried fruit. A small amount of lemon rind gives a sharp and bitter taste to balance out everything perfectly. Just remember to choose an unwaxed and untreated lemon when using lemon rind in recipes.

Raw mince pies can be made several days in advance and I always like to have a batch in the fridge.
